Gerry
has been translating patents since 1989 and has been a registered U.S.
patent agent since 1998. Before reopening JTT Patent Services in
December 2009, Gerry worked at a prestigious New Hampshire law firm,
where he gained valuable experience preparing and prosecuting patent
applications for clients ranging in size from
independent
inventors to major corporations. Gerry has a degree in Physics/Biology from Dartmouth College and engineering industry experience at a number of technology companies including Intel Corporation (California, U.S.A.), Spectra Inc. (New Hampshire, U.S.A.), and a Japanese affiliate of Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Osaka, Japan). Gerry is fluent in Japanese and frequently handles U.S. cases for Japanese entities. Gerry is or has been a member of a number of professional organizations in both the U.S. and Japan, including the Boston Patent Law Association (BPLA), the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property of Japan (AIPPI-Japan), the National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP), the Kokusai Tokkyo Houmu Kenkyukai (Infopat), the Kansai Tokkyo Kenkyukai (KTK), the Foreign Intellectual Property Society (FIPS), the American Translators Association (ATA), and the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN). Gerry is also on the Board of Directors at the Bhavana Society Monastery and Meditation Center in West Virginia, U.S.A..
